Requirements for issue of PPL 

Age : minimum 16.5 years of age on the date of applying for license.


Minimum qualification required is 10th ( PCM ) Appeared/Pass .

Flying Training:

The Candidate has to complete 50 Hours (Fifty hours) of flight time for completion of the course.

Requirements for issue of CPL

Duration1 Years

Minimum Age 17 years

Minimum Qualification 10+2 or graduation in any discipline.

Educational Qualification : 10+ 2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics from a recognized board / University.

Medical Fitness Physical fitness certificate of class – II medical conducted by DGCA approved doctor and Class I medical by DGCA approved medical board.

Ground Papers  has to clear following written examination conducted by the DGCA :-

  1. Air Regulations
  2. Air Navigation
  3. Aviation Meteorology
  4. Aircraft and Engines
  5. Single (Practical) examination for interpretation of aural and visual signals (RTR)

Flying Hours– must produce evidence of having satisfactorily completed as a pilot of an aeroplane within a period of 5 years immediately preceding the date of application for license not less than 200hrs. Of flight time.

IIAAM Merit Cum Scholarship Scheme

Expanding its outreach in the area of social concern, IIAAM has started a merit cum means scholarship scheme to promote the educational interests of the financially and socially backward meritorious students and thus helping them in shaping their careers in the aviation industry as well.

1. IIAAM Scholarship Scheme for Graduate Students.
An amount of Rs. 40,00,000/ (Rupees Forty Lakhs only)- Scholarships are being offered for the 200 undergraduate studies. The equitable distribution of scholarships may be State-wise, based on “Number of students applied”.
2. IIAAM Scholarship Scheme for Post-Graduate students
An amount of Rs 20,00,000/ (Twenty Lakhs only) scholarships are being offered for the 100 for Post-Graduate Course. The distribution of scholarships may be Zone-wise based on “Number of students applied for and may be equitably distributed in the four zones viz. North, South, East & West Districts of Kerala.


Students who has passed 10+2 or equivalent from Schools / Colleges / Institutions / Universities recognized by MCI / AICTE / State Education Boards / State Govt. / ICSE / ISC / CBSE / Central Govt. / Association of Indian universities with an aggregate of 50% or above, shall be eligible to apply.

In case of graduates, the average percentage of total marks of all the academic years of graduation shall be treated as marks obtained by the candidate. Similarly in case of 12th, if Board/University does not mention the percentage of marks obtained, the percentage of marks obtained shall be calculated on total aggregate marks. Minimum eligibility percentage of marks for various categories will be as indicated above.

Gross Joint income of the family of the candidate from all sources (during the financial year 2017-18) should not exceed Rs. 4,00,000/- (Rupees Four Lakh only) per annum. However, preference will be given to the students whose family income (gross joint income from all sources in 2017-18) is Rs. 200,000/- (Rs. Lakhs only) or less. Competent Revenue Authorities should issue income certificate only. Any Affidavit for Income Proof will not be accepted.

The criterion for selection will be merit and annual family income.

AGE LIMIT: Minimum 17 years and maximum 25 years as on 03.07.2018.
